With spring in full swing, it's a great time to chat about how we're taking care of ourselves. This month, we're diving into a topic that's close to my heart: swapping out the not-so-great stuff in our homes for healthier alternatives… and I've got some easy tips to help you make the switch seamlessly.
But why make the switch?
Well, let’s get honest for a minute… you know those everyday products you use at home? Turns out some of them are packed with not-so-great chemicals. By making the switch to cleaner, healthier alternatives, you're not just looking out for yourself but also your family and Mama Earth.
Have you ever peeked at the ingredients list on your favorite cleaning spray? It's like reading a chemistry textbook! We're talking synthetic fragrances, harsh chemicals, the works. Not cool, right? These nasties can mess with our bodies affecting our energy, mood, sleep, weight and so much more. So it’s time to kick them to the curb!

Getting healthy doesn’t have to be overwhelming! Here are three tips to help you level up your wellness game and get to swapping:

- Read Labels: Get label savvy. Look for ingredients you can actually pronounce and steer clear of the icky stuff like synthetic fragrances and parabens.
- DIY Solutions: Get your DIY on! Whip up your own cleaning and beauty products using simple ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and essential oils. It's cheaper, fun, and totally customizable!

Come see the distillery, the jousting arena, the old west town, the Indian village, and more! Such a tribute to Gary Young's vision. He wanted the farm to be a place where people could come with their families and maybe learn a little too!!

- 100PV Loyalty: 15ml Lemon - Sunshine in a bottle! This favorite oil freshens the air but I also love to use it to get gum, or sticky substances off clothing, counters etc.! My DIL used it to clean her hands of paint after a big art project for school. Great for guys wanting to get the grease off their hands after working on the car or in the shop. Yet safe for the skin! Note: This oil is photosensitizing so do not use it for 12 hours before on skin that will be exposed to the sun!
- 190PV Loyalty: 15ml Pine - This fresh smell of the forest has also been used for cleaning for years. (remember that pine scented cleaner??) Inhalation of pine can support the respiratory system. Great to use in a massage for stressed muscles and joints. Also when used in a bath, pine can be revitalizing for those with mental or emotional fatigue.
- 190PV: Thieves Household Cleaner - My cleaner of choice since it came out a many, MANY years ago!! It is a clean formula that can be diluted to clean everything from mirrors to heavy grease! Add a few drops of extra, lemon, orange, pine, Purification or Thieves oil to up your cleaning game!! Text THHC to 682-207-2337 to receive a Thieves Household Cleaner Dilution Chart!
- 250PV: 15ml Purification - This blend of Citronella, rosemary, Lemongrass, Tea Tree, Lavandin, and Myrtle cleans and disinfects the air and neutralizes mildew, cigarette smoke, and disagreeable orders (like burnt dinner!😅). I use it to discourage outside flying or creeping pests, and it can also help if you do encounter them!!
- 300PV: 15ml Thieves + 15ml Tea Tree: Thieves - This signature blend of clove, lemon, rosemary, Eucalyptus radiata, and cinnamon bark was created from research on legends about a group of 15th-century thieves who rubbed botanicals on themselves to avoid contracting the plague while they robbed the dead and dying. They were caught and forced to reveal the herbs and spices they used to protect themselves! This blend is used in a variety of household and dental products because of its effectiveness in protecting the body and supporting the immune system. Tea Tree - Originally from Australia (and now also grown in France) this oil, also knows as Melaleuca alternifolia has great cleansing abilities and is used for supporting the skin and cleansing scrapes and scratches. I also us this like I use Purification for the pesky critters we want to avoid and to help if they get to us first!

If there is one thing I have learned over the last year, it’s that you have the power to change your life and it doesn’t take huge changes but rather small little ones that have the biggest impact.
I took the chance to help fundraise and ended up being an extra on my favorite TV show with my sister! I have also gotten some daunting tasks done this year by setting, achieveable, but not overwhelming, small goals ("You only have to clean 2 shelves of that book case today", or "You only have to spend ____ minutes on that task and then you are done for the day.")
